Organized by IDC Research and with a participation of about 200 executives, the CIO SUMMIT 2019 event was held with great success on September 19 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
With presentations by companies in the sector such as Microsoft, Oracle, Dell and Softeng, as well as the example of this digital transformation such as Securitas Direct, Mapfre and the Ministry of Justice, the main role of the CIO for 2020 as an orchestrator was analyzed and executor in the digital plane.
Cybersecurity a priority
During the course of the event, IDC confirmed that 39% of CIOs have considered investing in cybersecurity in 2019. Even more than 50% of managed security service customers will include the life cycle of threats reaching 90% in 2024 .
“We have found that guaranteeing” digital trust “through identity management, vulnerability and threat management are the priorities in this area,” said José Antonio Cano, Director of analysis and consulting at IDC Research.
Softeng at the CIO SUMMIT
Our CEO, Carlos Colell, participated with the presentation “The challenge of accelerating digital transformation, increasing security and complying with legal regulations”.
In his session Carlos explained why the path to digital transformation requires greater security measures, the consequences of not being properly protected and some of the keys to drastically reduce the risks to which we are unfortunately all exposed.
Also, Carlos participated in a round table discussion on how to implement a platform strategy and where a company must begin its digital transformation with security to ensure success.
